Land clearing in Hernando County, FL

Brooksville, Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee and the rest of Hernando County: we clear brush and small trees, grade the ground and haul it off with one crew.

Land clearing in Hernando County

Hernando County has plenty of residential lots and small acreage, from Spring Hill subdivisions to larger parcels around Brooksville and Ridge Manor. We work best on residential lots and small acreage, where a compact track loader is the right tool, and we can grade and haul on the same visit.

Permits and rules in Hernando County

  • Protected trees. The county requires a Tree Removal Permit before removing specimen trees (18 inches or greater in diameter, measured at breast height) or majestic trees (36 inches or greater). Sand pines and palms are excluded. The county may allow removal of a protected tree that is an immediate safety hazard or is causing property damage.
  • Who to call. The Hernando County main line is (352) 754-4000, and the county’s contacts directory lists the right department for tree questions.
  • Bigger jobs. For larger clearing, or clearing tied to a building project, ask the county which approvals apply before work starts. The City of Brooksville also has its own rules.

Rules and fees change, so confirm with the county or your city before work starts. Details on this page were checked on the official pages on September 21, 2026.
