Grading & Site Prep · Tampa Bay
Lot grading and site prep in Tampa Bay
We level and slope building pads, driveway approaches and drainage areas to the plan you give us, so your builder, surveyor or inspector has a clean site to work from.
What we grade
Grading is the step that turns cleared ground into a site your builder, surveyor or inspector can work from. We level and slope:
- Building pads for homes, sheds and barns
- Driveway approaches and access paths
- Cleared lots that need leveling and rough grading
- Areas that need to shed water away from a structure or toward a low point

What we need from you
We work to the plan, stakes or instructions you provide. To quote accurately, it helps to have:
- A survey, site plan or grading plan if you have one, and any grade stakes or elevations from your surveyor or engineer
- Property lines marked, or a survey we can measure from
- Where you want water to go, and where it goes now
- Access details, and any buried utilities, septic systems, wells or irrigation we need to protect
- Any permit or HOA approvals your project requires
We do not design grading plans. If you are not sure what your site needs, ask your builder or engineer first, or call us and describe what you are planning.
Clearing and grading with one crew
If your lot is still overgrown, we clear it first and grade it with the same crew and equipment, then haul off the spoil. That means one schedule and one point of contact instead of coordinating a clearing company, a grading company and a hauler. See land clearing and hauling.
Fill and compaction
If your plans call for imported fill, engineered fill or compaction testing, tell us when you ask for the quote so we can scope the job correctly.
What affects the price
- The size of the area to be graded
- How much the existing ground needs to be moved, and how steep it is
- Whether clearing is part of the job
- How much material has to be spread, moved or hauled off
- Access for equipment
