Land clearing in Pinellas County, FL

Many Pinellas County lots are small with limited room to work. A compact track loader and one crew fit that work: clearing, grading and haul-off from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs.

Land clearing in Pinellas County

Pinellas County is densely developed, so many jobs are smaller lots with limited room to work. That is where a compact track loader earns its keep. We clear overgrown lots, grade them if needed, and haul the debris out.

Permits and rules in Pinellas County

  • Unincorporated Pinellas County. The county requires a habitat and tree permit for tree removal on private property, covering healthy trees 4 inches or larger in diameter, palms 6 feet or taller, mangroves and buttonwood, and dead or invasive trees. Applications go through the county’s online permitting system.
  • Homesteaded homes. Effective January 23, 2026, the county lists that on homesteaded, occupied single-family properties only trees greater than 24 inches in diameter require a permit.
  • Cities. Municipalities such as St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Largo have their own distinct rules. Contact the city directly if your property is inside its limits.
  • The county notes that removal without a required permit can lead to code enforcement action and mitigation requirements.

Rules and fees change, so confirm with the county or your city before work starts. Details on this page were checked on the official pages on September 18, 2026.
